Sanitation Initiative

700 se 7 Kadam

Aligned with national missions such as Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) and Jal Jeevan Mission, SUNDESH’s 700 se 7 Kadam initiative works to bridge sanitation gaps in rural and non-ODF villages through a mix of infrastructure support and behaviour change communication. The programme focuses on ensuring safe sanitation access for low-income households while promoting hygiene practices at the community level.

The initiative supports toilet construction, distribution of hygiene kits, and sanitation awareness to enable sustained behaviour change. Community engagement and local leadership play a central role in driving ownership and long-term adoption of safe sanitation practices. By strengthening access to safe sanitation and fostering hygiene behaviours, the programme contributes to healthier, cleaner rural communities and advances progress towards sustainable development goals.

“From access to adoption—building a culture of sanitation.”
