Home-based micro-enterprises
SUNDESH promotes food processing and preservation training as a pathway for rural women to build home-based enterprises and enhance household income. The initiative focuses on practical, low-cost techniques that enable women to convert locally available produce into value-added products.
Over time, training programmes have covered preparation of papad, pickles (achaar), jams, and sharbat, supporting traditional food-based livelihoods. Based on community demand, the curriculum has expanded to include cake making, biscuits, and nutritious dry mixtures, strengthening market-oriented skills.
The programme combines hands-on training, entrepreneurship orientation, and guidance on market linkages and basic compliance requirements, enabling women to move from skill acquisition to income generation.
“From kitchen skills to income opportunities.”
