Access to quality eye care in rural areas remains limited despite cataract being a treatable
condition. To bridge this gap, SUNDESH delivers community-based eye care through monthly
cataract camps, free surgeries, and year-round services via the Vision Center (Netryum) at
SIRUC in collaboration with Lions Eye Hospital, Ghaziabad.
The programme focuses on early detection, timely referral, and affordable treatment,
supported by community screenings, counselling, and eye health awareness. The Vision Center
offers computerised eye check-ups, refraction, prescriptions, and referrals for advanced care,
strengthening continuity of services for surrounding communities.
