TREE PLANTATION

Environmental sustainability is central to SUNDESH’s mission, particularly in rural areas where ecosystems are fragile yet vital. In response to declining green cover and climate risks, SUNDESH’s Tree Plantation Initiative mobilises schools, Panchayats, and farmers to restore green spaces, enhance biodiversity, and build climate resilience.

The programme promotes the plantation of native, fruit-bearing and medicinal saplings such as lemon, moringa, and amla—strengthening both ecological health and household nutrition. Community participation and environmental education are embedded to ensure long-term care and survival of saplings. Through school-led drives, community plantations, and capacity building on sapling care, the initiative nurtures a culture of environmental stewardship and local ownership.

“Planting trees today, nurturing a greener tomorrow.”
